By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Understand the role of GP referral programmes
Explain the purpose, scope, and benefits of GP referral pathways for clients with medical conditions, injuries, or lifestyle-related health risks.
Assess client needs safely and effectively
Conduct pre-exercise health screenings, risk assessments, and consultations in line with professional and medical guidelines. Identify contraindications and refer back to healthcare professionals when necessary.
Design safe and tailored exercise programmes
Create structured, progressive exercise plans adapted to individual health conditions, mobility limitations, and recovery stages. Modify Pilates and fitness exercises for clients with chronic conditions, post-surgical recovery, or lifestyle-related health risks.
Apply evidence-based exercise principles
Integrate current research and clinical guidance to support safe and effective exercise programming.
Monitor and evaluate client progress
Track outcomes, adjust programs according to client feedback and performance, and report progress to GPs or relevant health professionals as appropriate
